We are the Chosen of the Chosen
After October 7, 2023, everything changed for us. For every Jew around the world.
G-d is speaking to us and we all feel it, recognize it, and cannot repress His voice any longer. The lights have been turned on...again.
Take 3 minutes to read then decide.
Yeshua and His original followers were all Jewish, so of course they all had Hebrew names.
"Yeshua” (ישוע) is the Hebrew name from which the name “Jesus" is derived. It is a shortened form of “Yehoshua” (יהושע), meaning “Adonai is Salvation” or “Adonai Saves." This name encapsulates the core purpose of Messiah's first coming – to bring salvation to the Jew first, then the Gentile. Back in the day, a small percentage of Jews believed just like now. Probably the percentages were identical.
“HaMashiach” (המשיח) translates to “The Messiah” or “The Anointed One." In ancient Israel, kings and priests were anointed with oil as a symbol of their divine appointment. The Messiah, long-awaited by our ancestors, was to be the ultimate Anointed One – the ultimate King and Priest who would bring about G-d’s kingdom on earth.
The original Hebrew Yeshua HaMashiach was translated into Greek as Iesous Christos (Ἰησοῦς Χριστός). The Greek “Christos” is a literal translation of HaMashiach (the Anointed One). From the Greek it was translated into the Latin Iēsūs Chrīstus, followed by the English translation Jesus Christ.
Together, “Yeshua HaMashiach” means “Jesus The Messiah” or “Jesus The Christ.”
This name proclaims Yeshua as both the Saviour of humanity and the fulfillment of the Law and prophecies about our Messiah.
Yeshua was also a Rabbi. He was circumcised, wore tzitzit, and was a man of the Law. Many Orthodox, even Rabbis, already know that Yeshua is the Messiah, but are not yet prepared to reveal this to the world until “the right time."
The original followers of Yeshua/Jesus were also Jewish. Here are some of their real names;
Yochanan (יוחנן) - John
Shimon (שמעון) - Simon
Ya’akov (יעקב) - James
Natanel Bar-Talmai (נתנאל בר תלמי) – Nathaniel
Mattityahu (מתתיהו) - Matthew
Ta’om (תאום) - Thomas
Yehudah (יהודה) - Judas
Ya'akov (יעקב) - Jacob
Saul (שאול) - Paul
Judah (יהודה) - Jude
Where did the term Christian come from?
The word “Christian” is derived from the Greek word “Christianos” (Χριστιανός) which means “follower of Christ” i.e follower of Messiah.
The term was first used in the ancient Greek city of Antioch, which was located in present day Turkey. These followers of Messiah Yeshua were the first to be called Christians around AD 90.
The New Covenant/New Testament was entirely written by Jews.
Christianity is a 100% Jewish religion, which was systematically edited out of our history.

So why didn't every Jew at the time of Yeshua believe?
First, we were under brutal Roman rule. It was law to worship the Ceasar as a god and idols. Not doing so was punishable by death. Following Yeshua became a death sentence for almost all the apostles.
Second, many thought Messiah would be an 'earthly' King like David, and set us free from Roman rule and oppression. Restore peace and rule the world.
Third, Practicing Judaism at that time was allowed but only to a degree. Yeshua's claims about who he was shocked everyone, not only the community. Obeying and following the Status Quo was the norm, just like today.
Remember David? The most unlikely candidate to be our greatest King. Most would not believe in him until he became King. See the similarity? Or Moses? Another unlikely candidate. What percent followed him when things got tough? What about Isaiah. Walking naked in the streets for 3 years, warning us. Imagine if you were there. What would you be thinking? Ezekiel. Laying on the street on his side for a year. If you walked past him what would you be thinking?
With a very few exceptions all of the Prophets and Kings we study today were low status and outcasts. We revere them after the fact. Very few did during their lives.
Nothing has changed except the set design, wardrobe, styles and technology. Absolutely nothing.
Our Torah contains 613 laws. But who can keep them all? Keeping more brings you closer to G-d? So we thought.

James (Yakov) 2:10
For whoever keeps the whole Torah but stumbles in one point, he has become guilty of all.
THE GREATEST COMMANDMENTS
The acid test for all Messianic Jews/Christians.
Deuteronomy 6:5
Love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.
Leviticus 19:18
You shall love your neighbor as yourself.
Matthew 22:36-40 Complete Jewish Bible.
“Rabbi, which of the mitzvot in the Torah is the most important?” He told him, “‘You are to love Adonai your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.’ This is the greatest and most important mitzvah. And a second is similar to it, ‘You are to love your neighbor as yourself.’ All of the Torah and the Prophets are dependent on these two mitzvot.”
Not convinced? That's because nobody can convince anyone Jesus is the Messiah. Only Hashem can take the scales off anyone's eyes. Only our G-d can soften a hard heart and open a mind.
The fact you have not closed this page by now could mean something.
"G-d, show me if Yeshua is Mashiach. Open my eyes. Speak to me. Have mercy on me. Baruch Hashem."
Or take a leap of faith,
"G-d, I believe He is Mashiach. I believe he rose from the dead as prophesied. Forgive me of my sins. I need to know you. Baruch Hashem."
If you say this prayer G-d will answer you. Yes it's that simple.
Whether you are Jew-ish, Reform, Conservative or Orthodox makes no difference to G-d. He knows your heart.
How? When? Where? You will know.
Anyone who has accepted Yeshua/Jesus will attest it is the most profound and real experience you will ever know. And that's an understatement.
What has been will be again; what has been done will be done again.
There is nothing new under the sun.
