LIES THAT DIVIDE

AUTOMATIC THINKING

When we hear the name Jesus (Yeshua), our immediate reaction is often negative, to say the least. But why?

Our subconscious is trying to protect us. The question is: from what?

It knows that for over three thousand years, we have been targets—ever since G-d chose Abraham, Moses, David etc, and now Us. Yes every Jew has been Chosen.

In most Jewish minds, the word Christian carries heavy emotional baggage. It is also automatically associated with being a Gentile. We tend to think: Christians are Gentiles, and Gentiles are Christians. Of course, Gentiles can be Muslim, Buddhist, Hindu, or non-religious—but they are definitely not Jewish.

Since the attacks on us throughout history have been through this group, the mental connection makes sense, on the surface.

BARRIERS STRONGER THAN STEEL

When we are asked to consider Jesus, the automatic assumption is that we are being asked to become Gentiles, our historical oppressors—which is impossible. We cannot change our DNA, nor would we want to.

Because we equate Christianity with Gentile identity, historically adversarial, the mental recoil makes sense.

Some assume that believing in Yeshua/Jesus is an attempt to escape our Jewish identity or an admission of shame. We’re becoming Gentiles, right?

Another common reaction is: "If you believe in Jesus, you don’t want to be Jewish anymore. How could you turn your back on who you are, on our history, on our great victories and pain?"

Again, the myth we are giving up our identity. Remember: Jesus was Jewish. His apostles were Jewish. The first believers were entirely Jewish.

These misunderstandings took root two thousand years ago—intentionally, methodically.

It began when the Roman Empire—our historical Gentile oppressors who destroyed the Holy Temple—then later reconstructed  our Jewish Faith in Yeshua/Jesus into an Imperial, Political Religion. Jews were then excluded from this new Roman version of our faith,  then persecuted and killed  en-mass.

Has anything changed? The lie Christian is separate and for Gentiles remains. This lie may be the most insideous of all the lies about us. It has prevented millions from accepting our Messiah. And the consequences of rejecting Him.

Who has been lied about more than us? In every generation, a new, painful and deadly misconception about who we are is conceived and spread. We all see it now. But like our great King Solomon said in Ecclesiastes "What has been will be. There is nothing new under the sun since ancient times." We are watching history repeat...again. When lies are repeated for millennia, they settle into our collective psyche.

A LONELY ROAD - THE FEW AMONG THE FEW

Stepping into faith as a Jewish person brings both enlightenment, relief and a profound culture shock. It often happens quietly—in isolation, through a personal search, like your doing right now, or through a friend or stranger. But when you step into a standard church, the environment can feel completely alien. The language, the traditions, and the atmosphere feel foreign compared to the Shul we grew up with.

Then comes the deepest heartbreak: isolation.

Consider the numbers: Jewish people make up barely 0.2% of the world’s population. We are already a tiny minority across the globe. But Jewish believers in Yeshua? We are a minority within a minority—a remnant within a remnant.

Because of this, the road can feel excruciatingly lonely:

  • Rejection from our own: When a non-Jew comes to faith in Jesus, their family might simply ask, "That's nice, what's for dinner?" But when a Jewish person declares faith in Yeshua, the reaction can tear families apart. You risk being viewed as an outcast, a traitor, or an adversary. Organizations exist solely to persuade Messianic Jews to renounce their faith.
  • Misunderstanding from the outside: On the other side, many in the broader Christian world do not understand us. Some hold to Replacement Theology, claiming the Church has replaced Israel. Others treat our heritage superficially, while some even resent Jewish believers. Antisemitism has also infiltrated churches.

You carry the weight of generational trauma, the pain of rejection from family and friends, and the overwhelming wave of modern antisemitism—all while standing in a space where very few people truly understand your heart. Unless you were born Jewish and have walked this exact path, it is impossible to grasp the depth of this loneliness.

A BLESSING IN DISGUISE

Yet, in this deep isolation, we are given a rare and sacred gift: we are forced to rely entirely on the Almighty.

When human support falls away, G-d becomes our sole refuge. He draws us close. Like King David, we find comfort under the shadow of His wings. He strengthens us with a rock-solid faith that no amount of rejection or sorrow can break.

What feels like an unbearable burden becomes our greatest blessing: a faith refined in the fire, bringing us closer to the Creator than we ever thought possible. Baruch Hashem.

"Furthermore, we know that God causes everything to work together for the good of those who love God and are called in accordance with his purpose."
— Romans 8:28 (CJB)

YOU DONT HAVE TO WALK ALONE

If you are exploring these truths or have recently embraced Yeshua/Jesus, please know that you are not alone—even if it feels that way right now.

We encourage you to connect with a Messianic congregation. There, you will find a community of believers who share your history, understand your pain, and walk this same holy road together.

It's time to take back what was historically ours.
